Delicacy Monstera Fruit

MONSTERA – This fruit is also known as a Split Leaf Philodendron. In Spanish speaking countries, it is also known as Ceriman. It is similar to a pinecone in appearance. When ripe, the outside begins to split apart. Inside is a creamy, sweet fruit, with a slightly tart flavor. It has a pineapple, banana flavor. It is native to South American countries, but now grows in Florida and California as well. Only eat if fully ripened, or a mouth irritation may occur.
